Faun Zoeller UK (FZUK) recently hosted a significant visit from the new local MP of Redditch, Chris Bloore, at their headquarters. The visit was marked by discussions between Chris and CEO Simon Hyde on crucial topics such as the company’s expansion plans, future aspirations, decarbonisation, new technology for hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles, future training with South City College of Birmingham, and a live tour of the vehicle. The visit also provided an opportunity for Chris to meet one of Faun Zoeller’s young students, Nick Hosty, who is on placement from Aston University. They engaged in a fruitful discussion about the business and ways to help the local community, including Simon’s project called ‘Power Up’, a mentoring scheme designed to help young students in education.
FZUK was honoured to host the MP, and Simon was pleased to share his reflections on the visit. ‘We were delighted to welcome the new MP to our HQ and extremely excited to share with him, given the new government’s spirit and drive towards net zero and decarbonisation. We were also thrilled to showcase the ENGINIUS hydrogen fuel cell chassis which is part of the joint working with South City College of Birmingham and new training academy. We are very proud of our OEM status, which I think was a pleasant surprise for Chris! Furthermore, we gave concrete assurances that ENGINIUS UK can make a very serious and quick contribution to the government’s plans for the new green economy. On a personal note, I was extremely encouraged by Chris’s excitement to learn about the Power Up mentoring scheme for the young generation in the local community. Above all, a positive meeting and I look forward to making progress.’ Chris’s feedback after the visit echoed our commitment to driving change and striving for better. He was particularly impressed by our hydrogen chassis and the ‘Power Up mentoring scheme ‘, expressing his hope for these initiatives to become widespread in the future.
It is essential to drive change, which FZUK believes in, and constantly strive for better. Chris also reiterated this after his visit by adding. ‘FAUN Zoeller is well-known throughout Redditch for being one of our leading employers, but to see the hydrogen chassis firsthand was incredible. It’s inspiring to see a company in Redditch under Simon’s leadership at the cutting edge of new technology that will become the staple in the fleet vehicles of local authorities and businesses nationwide. However, it wasn’t just the cutting-edge technology that impressed me. As a former Chief Executive, I wanted to learn more about the ‘Power Up mentoring scheme’ and how we can work together to grow the program so even more young people can take advantage of the skills, experience, and enthusiasm of leaders like Simon.”
It is vital to talk to those about your passions and beliefs, as someone else can sometimes have a greater impact and influence on something you are unable to do. They can reach those we need to listen to and ultimately help make a positive difference to our future. FZUK will continue to keep pushing and make the impossible possible.
