Meet the Team: Scott Russell, Regional Business Manager

Welcome our newest member of the FAUN Zoeller team, our Regional Business Manager, Scott Russell.

Scott joined us in April to look after our customers and build new relationships with industry peers across the South. Drawing on his previous experience selling used refuse collection vehicles, he’s already helping to modernise our hire fleet, ensuring we continue to offer customers high-quality, reliable vehicles that meet the evolving needs of the waste and recycling industry

In just a short time, Scott has become a vital part of our sales team, and it’s been fantastic having him on board. When asked what he enjoys most about the role, he said:

“My favourite part of the role is visiting our customers. I always enjoy building new relationships and being involved in future fleet planning. When I say it’s the people at FAUN Zoeller it sounds a bit cringey, but I work with a fantastic team – everyone is so friendly, and I really mean it! I’m so glad to be part of a company with fantastic values and a great culture.”

Scott joined just in time to attend IFAT in Germany, where he had the opportunity to meet colleagues from across Europe and learn more about FAUN Zoeller’s latest innovations. He’s now back in the UK, continuing to strengthen relationships and support customers across the South.

“I wanted to stay involved with trucks but in a niche market,” Scott explained. “The waste industry is incredibly specialised. I’d worked with councils for years, but the closer I’ve worked with them in this role, the more I’ve realised just how unique the sector is and how much expertise it requires.”

No two days are the same for Scott. Most of his time is spent out on the road meeting new and existing customers, speaking with different departments within local authorities about their current challenges, future fleet requirements and upcoming tenders.

“Electric vehicles are a huge talking point at the moment, so it’s exciting being able to demonstrate what’s available and discuss how fleets could evolve in the future. We’re also having lots of conversations around Z-CAM and other safety technologies, which is something customers are really interested in.”

When it comes to industry events, IFAT remains Scott’s favourite.

“It’s the largest exhibition I’ve ever been to – four or five times bigger than the NEC. Everywhere you look there’s something innovative, and it was great to spend time with our European colleagues and see the latest developments across the industry.”

We’re excited to see Scott continue making an impact and driving our business forward.
